I have been strugling for weeks to try and get a system running where if I receive an incoming phone call the caller id data will link to my MS Office Outlooks contacts and display the number and name on the computer screen.

After research I knew that the pci modem I had in my computer running under Win XP would not be compatible to do this. I eventually found out that the USRobotics USR805637 USB modem should work. Apparently it is compatible with type 1 caller id in the UK. I uninstalled and removed existing modem and installed this external USB modem. By setting an initialisation string of "+VCID=1" and initially using hyperterminal it would display the number of the caller.

I then went about trying to find some suitable software that would achieve my requirements. After trying many free trial downloads I could find nothing that worked until I discovered a program called "IdentaPop Pro". I downloaded the MS Outlook add in version of this and it worked. The callers number and name appeared on my computer screen the instant the phone began to ring.

Now comes the problem. It only works for 1 incomming phone call and then will not respond to any subsequent calls. The only way I can correct this is after every call to shut down MS Outlook and reopen it again. It will then acknowledge the next 1 call and then stop again until I have shut down and reopened Outlook.

Does anyone have a solution to this. I am at the point of giving up. Any help much appreciated.
